* % Daily Value shows how much one serving adds to a 2,000-calorie day. † Net carbs is not on US labels; it is total carbs minus fiber, allulose, erythritol and half of other sugar alcohols. "To taste" amounts are counted as written. Counted items (eggs, cloves, spoons) use the rounded amount shown in the ingredient list. Vitamins and minerals are from raw ingredients; cooking lowers some, especially vitamin C and folate. How this is calculated.

Steps

  1. Put everything in the blender.

  2. Blend on high for 30 seconds.

Done looks like: Thin as milk, pale green-flecked, with a layer of froth on top.
  3. Taste. Add a pinch of black salt if it's flat. Pour over ice, or chill and drink after a meal.

Equipment

Blender $30–100

What to look for

  • Handles frozen fruit without stalling
  • Jar that is easy to take apart and rinse

Skip: Expensive high-speed blenders unless you blend every day. A personal blender works for one serving.

What goes wrong

WhatCauseFix
Thick, like a lassiGreek yogurt is strained and thick; it needs more water than plain yogurt.Blend in another ½ cup water. Chaas should pour like milk.
Bitter aftertasteToo much cilantro stem, or blended too long.Use mostly leaves and stop after 30 seconds.
