* % Daily Value shows how much one serving adds to a 2,000-calorie day. † Net carbs is not on US labels; it is total carbs minus fiber, allulose, erythritol and half of other sugar alcohols. "To taste" amounts are counted as written. Counted items (eggs, cloves, spoons) use the rounded amount shown in the ingredient list. Vitamins and minerals are from raw ingredients; cooking lowers some, especially vitamin C and folate. How this is calculated.

Steps

  1. Put the matcha, allulose and hot water in a small jar with a lid. Shake hard for 20 seconds.

Done looks like: Bright green, smooth and a little foamy, with no dark specks or lumps.
  2. Fill a glass with ice and pour in the cold milk.

  3. Pour the matcha over the top. Stir before drinking. It has about 70 mg of caffeine, close to a small coffee.

Done looks like: A green layer sinks slowly into the white milk.

What goes wrong

WhatCauseFix
Lumps of dry powderMatcha clumps in cold liquid, or it went straight into the milk.Always shake or whisk it with the hot water first. Sieve the powder if your tin has hard lumps.

Notes

Pregnancy: About 70 mg of caffeine per teaspoon of matcha. Count it toward the 200 mg a day usually advised in pregnancy.
